Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2O18 (the “Transgender Act”) is a federal statue and extends to whole of Pakistan. The Transgender Act defines a transgender person, prohibit discrimination against transgender persons; confer right upon transgender persons to be recognized as such, and a right to self-perceived gender identity. The Transgender Act provides a distinction of a male and female transgender. The Transgender Act confers a right of education, right of health and inheritance on transgender, for transgender male the share of inheritance will be that of a man, and for transgender female the share of inheritance will be that of a woman.
