The Code of Civil Procedure (Punjab Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 aims to reform and expedite civil proceedings in Punjab, Pakistan. Amendments to sections 96, 106, and 115 set specific timeframes for court decisions, aiming for a timely resolution of appeals and applications. Additionally, the ordinance emphasizes case management under section 128(k) and introduces provisions for concurrent hearings of interlocutory applications under section 141. Section 159 ensures that proceedings initiated before the ordinance’s enactment adhere to the previous legal framework.
