The Number Allocation and Administration Regulations, 2011 are made under the clause (o) of Sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996 by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The Regulations state the criteria for eligibility of applicants for the allocation of numbers along with its application procedure and fee. The Authority under these Regulations is Pakistan Telecommunication Authority established under Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996. The Number Allocation and Administration Regulations, 2011 also provides for the obligations of the service providers to the consumers. The Regulations provide the application forms for the Universal Access Number (“UAN”), Toll Free Number, Universal Internet Number (“UIN”), Number Allocation for Telecom Services, National Signaling Point Code (“NSPC”), International Signaling Point Code (“ISPC”), System Identification Code (“SID”) for Wireless Local Loop (“WLL”) operators and premium rate numbers at the end.
