The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Act, 2011 was enacted to establish an autonomous organization for regulation, coordination and policy direction for vocational and technical training. According to the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Act, 2011, the Government shall establish a Commission to be called the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission. Some major functions of the Commission include devising and reviewing policies and evolving strategies relating to human resource development with a focus on vocational and technical training and employment, formulating policies for capacity building and organizing workshops, seminars, symposia etc.
Moreover under the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Act, 2011, the general direction, all matters of policy and administration of the Commission shall vest in a Board comprising Chairman and other numerous members. In addition to this there shall be an Executive Director of the Commission appointed by the Federal Government in order to fulfil the objectives of this act in a better way.
