Bond Pricing Agency Rules, 2017 were enacted by the Federal Government in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (g) of Sub-section (2) of Section 175 of the Securities Act, 2015 read with clause (b) of Section 43 of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan Act, 1997. These Rules provide that no person shall carry on a business as a bond pricing agency or hold himself out as carrying on such a business unless licensed by the Commission (Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan) under these Rules. These Rules provide the procedure, form of application and eligibility criteria for bond price agency. These Rules also define the duties and responsibilities of bond price agency. A disciplinary proceeding can be initiated against agency if it violates and contradicts the provisions of these Rules.
