The Gwadar Port Authority Ordinance, 2002
The Gwadar Port Authority Ordinance, 2002 was enacted for establishment of an Authority within the limits of Gwadar Port necessary for making arrangements for planning, construction, operation, management and maintenance of Gwadar Deep Water Port at Gwadar. According to the Gwadar Port Authority Ordinance, 2002, the Federal Government may define the limits of the Gwadar Port for the purposes of this ordinance and may from time to time alter such limits. On the other hand, the Authority shall prepare a master plan and a phased master-program for the development of the port area and the plan and the program shall be submitted to the federal government. The Gwadar Port Authority Ordinance, 2002, further describes the powers of the Authority. Some of the powers are incurring any expenditure necessary for carrying out the purposes of this ordinance, acquiring any land in the Port area, procuring plants, machinery, instruments and materials required etc.
